OnTheGo and The Mark Agency recognised for developing award-winning user experiences
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Today, SmartCompany, one of Australia's best source for business news and journalism for small and medium business owners, has announced its annual Web Awards for 2014.
OnTheGo, an Australian-based sportswear retailer with global ambitions, has been awarded Best Mobile for their latest website which was developed by long-term partner, The Mark Agency.
OnTheGo founder Mick Spencer is understandably proud of the way the revised website has delivered extra customers to his brand from across multiple platforms. “Anyone can make a site look nice but you want your users to have a good experience when they are there,” he says.
“As we have a fully online customer system and we refer our customers to it, we wanted a platform that would work from any device,” Spencer explained.
Managing Director of The Mark Agency, Tristan Maddigan is equally focussed on the customer experience. “Time is incredibly precious online. People can jump from one site to another extremely quickly. When you’re working in the retail space, however, every barrier to participation can represent a massive opportunity cost, and result in lost revenue.
“We worked closely with Mick and OnTheGo to ensure our solution presented the most seamless experience for their customers. This award recognises the efforts we went to, and the great collaborative result we achieved.”
“This work built on our previous experience with clients such as Kelly Slater’s surf hardware brand, Komunity Project.“
Mick agrees. “The Mark Agency’s approach helps us connect with an international audience. This is perfectly aligned with our long-term strategy, and the website now provides customers with a friendly and local feel no mater where they are in the world.”
However, that wasn’t the only good result for OnTheGo and The Mark Agency. The OnTheGo website also collected the Runner-up position for Best Design in Smart Company’s assessment. Judge Mark Gray commented, “Any fashion retailer has multiple categorisation challenges on sizing and colour and the different variations. That goes back to ease of use and also the site search is very good.”
