OTG’s Winter Olympics top 3 uniform fails

Designing an Olympic Winter Games uniform that looks good, doesn’t hinder performance and stays on is apparently no easy feat. With the Winter Olympics wrapped up, OTG has compiled a list of its top 3 favourite uniform fails.

Gabriella Papadakis – France

In the early stages of her routine with partner Guillaume Cizeron, Gabriella Papadakis’ had an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction. It was Janet Jackson at the 2004 Super Bowl half-time show all over again. Suffice to say it was a chilling moment for France. #nipplegate

Yura Min – South Korea

Home court advantage notwithstanding, Yura Min had the misfortune of having a hook on her costume come undone within five seconds of the team’s figure ice skating event. This left Min skating on thin ice before her top shimmied down to reveal her gold medals.

US Olympic speed skating team

The award for worst Winter Olympics uniform hands down goes to the US speed skating team. While Underarmour claimed the carefully placed patches were scientifically designed as friction guards, the rest of the world could only see a cringe worthy crotch of silver. Yoo-Ess-Ay! Yoo-Ess-Ay!
